Startups are magnets for wannabes. You’ll have disloyal people joining your company for self-serving reasons. They show interest not because they believe in your mission or want to donate tears, sweat or blood to the cause. They are there to hype their resume or for bragging rights. They sacrifice nothing and jump ship when things get tough. They destroy morale and compromise your hustles behind your back.

Wannabes show great enthusiasm for your ideas but hardly ever deliver and they actually think they can do your job better. They quietly question your leadership and constantly plot against you. They're very good at forging alliances to plot against the leadership. They are the most destructive force in your company. Spot them early and fire them in spectacular fashion.
